Sunrise Presents: Your Song

A co-production of an original Headlock Media format by the Seven Network & Headlock Media. Sunrise Presents: Your Song honoured the great musicians of Memphis - the undisputed home of rock 'n' roll, soul and blues. Over a fortnight, Australians had their chance to pass judgment and vote on their favourite songs from the likes of Elvis Presley, the Drifters and Aretha Franklin. Australia's very own soul-man Guy Sebastian then performed the five most popular songs in front of a live television audience. Guy has a real connection to Memphis after recently returning from recording his latest album there with several musicians who wrote and recoded with Elvis, Otis Redding, Al Green and Wilson Pickett.

Sunrise Presents: Your Song was hosted by the Sunrise family of Kochie and Mel, Natalie Barr, Mark Beretta and Monique Wright. Sunrise Presents: Your Song sees Headlock Media General Manager Glenn Pallister and Sunrise Executive Producer Adam Boland again team up as joint Executive Producers. They jointly produced the 2004 Reach Out to Asia concert and telethon.

Real People Real Music Campaign

Creatively conceived and produced by Headlock Media in conjunction with our Sony BMG Strategic Marketing Department, two series of this campaign proved to be one of the most successful campaigns for catalogue product in 2007.

Producers of the Official World Youth Day 2008 Video Clip

Headlock Media successfully won the tender to direct and produce the video clip to accompany the Official World Youth Day anthem/theme, written and performed by Sony BMG artist Guy Sebastian, with a guest performance from fellow Sony BMG artist Paulini.

Matthew Hardy “I’m so Australian”

It's not easy being Australian. Men who like cats, drinking warm beer and anyone who refuses to eat lamb or support Lleyton Hewitt are un-Australian. In 2007 the Aussie flag was banned at the Big Day Out and we said a sad goodbye to the Mexican wave at the cricket. Comedian Matthew Hardy decided to take this situation by the scruff of the neck and ask himself: “How Australian am I, and why?”

Recently signed to Sony BMG, Headlock Media have produced Matthew Hardy’s first comedy single and DVD featuring the smash catch cry for this summer “I’m So Australian”. Recorded live at the National Theatre, it delivers over an hour of Matthew’s best material including nearly 100 I’m so Australian one liners that are sure to become a part of our everyday vernacular.

The DVD features animation, live music and blazing backdrops. Special guest appearances on the big screen include Andrew Gaze, Shannon Noll, Liz Ellis, Ahn Do, cricket greats Stuart McGill and Damien Fleming, Guy Sebastian and a live appearance by Up There Cazaly great Mike Brady, who delivers a medley of some of his finest TV ad creations. Former Australian Idol favourite and Beat Box World Champion, Joel Turner teams up with Hardy on a duet entitled Bogan With A Slogan – a ditty about the Cronulla riots. Warning! This song will stick in your head forever (or at least five minutes, whichever comes first.)

Matthew Hardy is BAFTA Award winning writer, having written for the UK Sketch Show & for Kelsey Grammar. He is the author of the best-selling novel Saturday Afternoon Fever and is currently writing his second book and first screenplay. He has co-hosted the drive shift on sports radio station SEN 116, with Dermott Brereton & Anthony Hudson, then hosted his own show between 6-7pm on NOVA 100 during the 2006 Commonwealth Games, as well as being a regular on the ABC’s The Fat, & hosting over 70 episodes of the variety show The Big Schmooze on The Comedy Channel.

"Hits and Stars" Sanity TVC

Just before Christmas 2007, Headlock teamed with retail giant Sanity to create an innovative and unique Christmas TVC. Headlock created the theme "This Christmas, Sanity and Sony BMG are bringing music to life". A creative commercial was devised and produced, featuring our artists physically in a Sanity store, guiding a "customer" through her best choices of music for Christmas (which of course were Sony BMG artists!!).

vega FM TVC's

Headlock has continued to build it’s TVC concept and production business. Recently we created a campaign for the vega Radio Network, owned. The result has been spectacular. The TVC’s have been on high rotation on all 3 major Networks with fantastic feedback for both companies.
